Mandy's Candies Story - A Sweet Passion & Dream

Mandy's Candies actually started from an interior design business! Founder, Mandy, began interior design after her divorce as a means to support her daughter. With a background in art, it was an easy decision. Mandy would do custom painting and design, and loved every minute of her career. Then things changed in an instant with a car accident. Mandy found herself with a back injury and unable to work.  With lots of down time while healing, Mandy decided to catch up on another passion of hers, food.

Mandy has always been a foodie and loves to cook. Then, one day a program about candy came on TV showing how caramel is made, and it hit her. She could do this! That day, Mandy ran to the supermarket with $100 in her pocket and a list of ingredients to make caramel. From that day forward, Mandy tried recipe after recipe from cookbooks to the internet. She must have tried hundreds, and none turned out the way she envisioned the caramel to be. So she began adding and subtracting ingredients until she came up with her own secret recipe. She would give batches away to friends and family, and everyone loved it! These caramels quickly grew into many new products, such as Mandy's delicious Jumbo Turtles. Soon, people began to ask Mandy if she could make other types of candy. She would rush home and begin her process of inventing, until the candy was perfected in her eyes. She was told the candies were so good, why not sell them? So, Mandy took a leap of faith and launched Mandy's Candies.

Mandy jumped right in and tackled new and inventive packaging ideas, honed from her interior design days. Mandy believes that every product made by Mandy's Candies is to be created in small batches with only the best ingredients to ensure the highest quality candies. Each and every product is handmade, hand dipped, and hand packaged for maximum delight.

Mandy believes everything happens for a reason, and from an auto accident came the delicious company of Mandy's Candies.  She puts smiles on many faces everyday, which brings her the most joy. What a great way to make a living! Who would've thought a piece of candy had such power!
